Do you enjoy gardening and wondered if you can grow any veg in the winter? Well you can! You can prepare lots in this time too, for planting in the spring. Here's a good list to get you started with your winter growing -
JANUARY
What to sow -
Salad leaves in trays
Broad beans in cell trays, under cover
Onions and peppers

Remember to -
Order seeds
Get pots and trays cleaned, ready for sowing.
Dig over your own plot if the soil and weather allows.
FEBRUARY
What to sow -
Salad leaves
Onions
Leeks
Broad beans in trays, undercover.

Remember to -
Chit seed potatoes by placing them in trays, with the buds (eyes) upwards. A cool, light, frost free place is ideal.
Clean cold frames or greenhouses before filling with seedlings
Make some wooden labels and paint them ready for sowing time.
MARCH
What to sow -
Salad leaves
Lettuce
broad beans
radish
peas
carrot
parsnip
onions and leeks undercover
summer cabbage in modules
tomatoes and peppers in a greenhouse

Remember to -
Put out some cloches to warm up the soil beneath to aid early sowing which can start at the end of the month.
